House sparrows in Regency Square.
House sparrows in Regency Square, Brighton, England. I was lucky to get this photograph, as although there are a lot of very vocal house sparrows in this square, they can be very elusive and I haven't been able to replicate this. This photograph was taken on 11th June 2016.
The house sparrow is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae, found in most parts of the world. A small bird, it has a typical length of 16 cm and a weight of 24–39.5 g. Females and young birds are coloured pale brown and grey, and males have brighter black, white, and brown markings.
