  1. Hi Ferdy,
    I randomly stumbled upon this photo and while I'm not qualified enough to offer up an alternative (Wahlberg's, Tawny, Steppe, etc are all species I am hardly familiar with) I have strong doubts as to whether this is a Martial eagle, as an adult would have the characteristic dark head and breast contrasting with the nearly white belly, while a juvenile would also have a white head.
    Any thoughts?
    EDIT: looking at ebird bar charts for Kruger and the date, Tawny Eagle seems like the most probable candidate

The Tawny Eagle is a large bird of prey. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the migratory Steppe Eagle, "Aquila nipalensis", and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific.
