Melanargia ines Melanargia ines. Although it is not the better shot of the top of its wings, this is the only decent photo I have. And I remember I was a little bit greedy, and lazy at the same time. My macro set was attached, and I have risked a close up shot. The weather conditions were not that good, the sky was clouded, raining from time to time. I took my chance with this settings because I was capturing some beetles in close up mode. I did only one shot, the only photo I have of this specimen with its wings opened.<br />

The Spanish marbled white is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It can be found on the Iberian Peninsula and western North Africa. The length of the forewings is 23–25 mm. The butterflies fly in one generation from May to June. The larvae feed on various grasses such as Brachypodium pinnatum en Bromus madritensis.
