Eastern willow spreadwing male - Chalcolestes parvidens Very close and almost imposible to distingish from C. viridis, but I identified it as C. parvidens because of it's dark pterostigma and more extensively white appendages with only the very tips black. 2. Oh yeah! Very nice. I believe we don't have this one over here ;) If I came across one this it would be very difficult to distinguish from C. viridis. However, in this photo it is quite visible the smaller sub apical tooth of the male genitalia when compared to C. viridis. http://www.dragonflypix.com/tooltips/chalcolestes_viridis_parvidens_m.jpg Great job, and a great new add to our European Odonata Checklist ;) Cheers Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago

"Chalcolestes parvidens", formerly "Lestes parvidens", is a damselfly of the family Lestidae. It has a metallic green body and at rest it holds its wings away from its body. Its common name in English is the eastern willow spreadwing.
