  1. This is strange because Govenia sodiroi is considered to be endemic to Ecuador. Maybe it is another species of Govenia. In this article there is a key to the Colombian species.

    1. Oh my! You're absolutely right. I saw a photo in a selection of Colombian orchids with that name, and was so glad to have found its ID, I didn't think to double-check that the species was correct!
      Fortunately, I thought to take a photo of the leaves, which are longer than the inflorescence. And since the lip is definitely apiculate, looks like it is in fact G. liliacea. Thanks for catching that!
      (Assuming of course that the authors of that paper know their species, the Wiki article should be edited to extend the range of the species.)
