  2. After seeing one in moth form, I'm now convinced my original identification of Evergreen Bagworm was wrong, and that this guy was instead an Abbot's Bagworm Moth.

Abbot's Bagworm Moth is a moth of the Psychidae family. It is found in south-eastern North-America, including Florida and Louisiana. There is strong sexual dimorphism in the adults. Females are wingless.
