    1. This is the first time I've ever seen one. It freaked me out a bit when I first saw it.
      Of course, I've only been in Florida for a couple months now, and have been stuck inside for most of it, so I'll probably see more as time goes on, and start getting used to bigger, flashier spiders.

"Trichonephila clavipes" is a species of golden orb-web spider. It lives in the warmer regions of the Americas. The large size and bright colours of the species make it distinctive. The female is much larger than the male.
