Kingston or Twickenham parakeets

Psittacula krameri, feral rose-ringed parakeets, have become common in London and the surrounding areas. They are the UK's only naturalised parrots. These are eatging my apples!

Same here in the Netherlands, our only tropical bird! Not close to where I live, but they live in bigger cities where the extra heat apparently allows them to survive our cold climate. Posted 9 years ago

The Rose-ringed parakeet

The rose-ringed parakeet is a medium-sized parrot in the genus Psittacula, of the family Psittacidae. It has disjunct native ranges in Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, and is now introduced into many other parts of the world where feral populations have established themselves and are bred for the exotic pet trade.
