  1. Very clean shot in what I suppose was a very brief moment of rest :) Posted 9 years ago
    1. Well, you know how it is at hummingbird feeders. You've got some species that are just going crazy trying to keep every other bird away from 'their' feeder, actually not spending very much time feeding at all, and others that are a lot more relaxed, and do spend a fair amount of time just relaxing on available perches, like this one. Woodstars and hermits, now that's another story! Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago
      1. 9 more weeks of waiting for me. It's agonizing since the entire country is currently on holiday it seems, and posts like these make me want to go today! Posted 9 years ago
        1. Ah yes I know what that's like, counting down the days. It'll be there soon enough! Posted 9 years ago

The white-necked jacobin is a large and attractive hummingbird that ranges from Mexico south to Peru, Bolivia and south Brazil. It is also found on Tobago and in Trinidad, but breeding has not been proved on the latter island. Other common names are great jacobin and collared hummingbird.
