    1. It's a staghorn fern (Platycerium). A quick online search would suggest it is Platycerium alcicorne. They are some of the loveliest ferns, in my opinion, and actually quite widespread in the tropics. Keep an eye out for them on your next trips! Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago

  2. The photo doesn't really do the plant much justice. In the fading sunlight it was absolutely wonderful. I was amazed at the colours of the shields. I guess they're at different of life. I did wonder if it was a stags horn. Thanks once again Thibaud. Posted 9 years ago

''Platycerium bifurcatum'' is a species of fern native to Java, New Guinea and southeastern Australia, in New South Wales, Queensland and on Lord Howe Island. It is a bracket epiphyte occurring in and near rainforests.
