Pachypodium rosulatum growing on sand, Ankarafantsika, Madagascar
It took a lot of effort to reach this plant (high climb whilst cutting through weeds as nobody had visited this part for years), so now I'm inclined to tell something about it. This is a variation of the well-known Elephant's foot plant that grows on sand, instead of rocky areas. These super specialists tend to have a lot of variations based on micro conditions. Taken from the genus page:
"One can speculate that in regions such as Madagascar, there might still be unidentified species that are confined to a single rocky outcrop or an inselberg."

''Pachypodium rosulatum'', common name Elephant's Foot Plant, belongs to the dogbane family Apocynaceae.
