
Spotted Sand-diver - Trichonotus setiger
Spotted Sand-diver- Trichonotus setiger is tan with numerous white spots, 10-11 brown body bars; dorsal fin translucent with white spots on rays; males have long front dorsal rays.
The Males keep a harem of Females and will 'fight' off other Males by displaying his pectoral fins and dorsal rays. They also do this displays to attract other Females.

The spotted sand-diver is a perciform fish in the family Trichonotidae. ''T. setiger'' is the type species of genus ''Trichonotus''.

They are also very shy, if you get too close to them, they will 'dive' into the sands and disappears.
Hence, a lot of divers do not get to appreciate this fish if they just keep swimming around. Posted 9 years ago
