Victoria Crown Pigeon - Goura victoria
Victoria Crown Pigeon - Goura victoria is a large bird, as big as a Turkey with a nice crest/crown on its head. Mostly bluish in colour and red eyes.
The local indigenous used to eat them, considered a delicacy but the Resort told the locals to stop eating them and on my third trip to the Island, I saw many of them, roaming freely.

The Victoria Crowned Pigeon, ''Goura victoria'', is a large, bluish-grey pigeon with elegant blue lace-like crests, maroon breast and red iris. The bird may be easily recognized by the unique white tips on its crests.
