Chorthippus binotatus is an insect species that was first described by the Toussaint Charpentier 1825. Chorthippus binotatus included in the genus and family chorthippus locusts.

Chorthippus is a kind of grasshopper family Acrididae. In some species, rarely, pink or purplish individuals are observed (this color disappeared after the death of the animal and persistent few hours molts).
