From the family Araceae, is a perennial herbaceous plant with 16-25 cm long leaves. They have white flowers growing in a spadix. A spadix is a type of spike inflorescence with small flowers borne on a fleshy stem. The spadix is surounded by a spathe, also white. the spathe is a large bract that forms a sheath to enclose the flower cluster.<br />
Habitat:<br />
Although these plants are worldwide present in gardens their origin is tropical Pacific areas, including Costa Rica. This particular one was spotted in the middle of the Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve and is thus growing in the wild, in its native habitat.
