
Jazzy Leafwing
Monte Verde, Costa Rica (2014).
The uppersides of the forewings are black, with a few white spots on the margins and two large white transverse bands. The uppersides of the hindwings are maily brown. The undersides mimic dead leaves, ranging from dark brown to whitish.
Habitat:
This butterfly can be found in the lowlands or the foothills, at an elevation of about 100–1,200 metres (330–3,940 ft) above sea level. Butterfly Garden in Monteverde.

"Hypna" is a butterfly genus of the family Nymphalidae. It is monotypic, containing only "Hypna clytemnestra", the jazzy leafwing, marbled leafwing or silver-studded leafwing.
