It is found in Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Surinam.

It was formerly categorized as ''Choeradodis columbica'' , as ''Choeradodis peruviana'' , and as ''Mantis rhombicollis'' .
