Stick Insect, Phasmdi - Orthomeria superba

This is the Male of Stick Insect, Phasmid - Orthomeria superba.
He has full wings, capable of flights. The wings are green, yellow and blue in colour.

That's an interesting contradiction: stick insects doing everything to remain unseen, yet this one also having very bright wings :) Posted 9 years ago

  There are indeed many brightly coloured species of Stick Insects/Phasmids contrary to what most people would think as their general name of Stick Insect gives the impression that they tends to imitate sticks and branches. Despite their bright colours, it is still very difficult to find them during day time. Much easier to find them during night time when they come out to the open. Posted 9 years ago
