Habitat:
Malaysian peninsule to Solomon I. SW Japan to E Australia. Shelter within branching corals or inside crevices of protected lagoon and seaward reefs to 10 m.

''Apogon compressus compressus'', commonly called the ochre-striped cardinalfish, is a Cardinalfish from the Indo-West Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 12cm in length.
