Mimic Octopus The name to this Octopus truly describes it as they have the capability to mimic or impersonate other local animals depending on situations they found themselves in :<br />
- Flounder as the swim just above the sandy bottom, with all the tentacles lined around the body and to the back<br />
- Lionfish by flaring up its tentacles mimicking the spines of lionfish as they swim in the water column<br />
- Seasnake, with their body hidden in the sand, only 2 arms/tentacles are outside opposite of each other, giving it the length and the segmented patterns on its tentacles make it looks like the banded sea snake<br />
- Crab when it opens up the skin of its tentacles, making them looks fat/big<br />

The mimic octopus is an Indo-Pacific species of octopus capable of impersonating other local species. They are notable for being able to change their skin color and texture in order to blend in with their environment, such as algae-encrusted rock and nearby coral through pigment sacs known as chromatophores. The mimic octopus possesses chromatophores as well as the unique behaviour of taking shape of various objects and animals.
