
Blue spotted cornet fish
To 150 cm (5 ft.) long. Silvery with pale olive back. Elongated snout, body and whip-like tail filament. It may display blue mid-lateral stripe from head to tail base.
Habitat: Indo Pacific. Solitary or form schools. Virtually all reef habitats to 128 m.
The bluespotted cornetfish, also known as smooth cornetfish or smooth flutemouth, is a marine fish which belongs to the family Fistulariidae. This very long and slender reef-dweller belongs to the same order as the pipefishes and seahorses, called Syngnathiformes.
