The Arabian red fox is a subspecies of the red fox native to Arabia, specifically Dhofar and Al Hajar Mountains in Oman and they are also found in UAE Syria, Jordan and Israel to Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The Arabian red fox is similar in color to the common red fox. However, it is more adapted to desert life than its parent species. The fox's ears are much larger, and its body is much smaller than that of the red fox.
The Arabian red fox also has fur between its toes, to prevent burning.. more

After conquering the northern hemisphere and invading Australia through human introduction, the red fox has learned to live in numerous habitats. They even live in close proximity to humans, despite being hunted. The adaptability and ingenuity of the red fox cannot be denied.
There are 45 recognizes subspecies of red fox. The Arabian red fox (Vulpes vulpes arabica) is one of those subspecies. It is native to the Arabian Peninsula and is well-adapted for life in the desert: it is mostly nocturnal, has large ears, has fur between its toes, and has light-colored fur. Being nocturnal in the desert is beneficial because it means they are most active when it is most cool. Large ears are loaded with blood vessels, which allow excess body heat to be released (kind of like a radiator). Their foot fur prevents their feet from getting burned on the hot sand. Furthermore, their light fur color is favorable for desert living because it reflects heat, rather than absorbing it. And, finally (but, perhaps not scientifically relevant), their pups are adorable! {Spotted in Israel by JungleDragon moderator, Thibaud Aronson} #JungleDragon #Arabianredfox #Vulpesvulpesarabica
