The redtail catfish, ''Phractocephalus hemioliopterus'', is a pimelodid catfish. In Venezuela it is known as cajaro and in Brazil it is known as pirarara. It is the only extant species of the genus ''Phractocephalus''. This fish is a common aquarium fish.
