The buff-sided robin is a small diurnal insectivorous perching bird in the Petroicidae family, a group commonly known as the Australo-Papuan or Australasian robins. It is also known as the buff-sided fly-robin, buff-sided shrike-robin and ''Isabellflankenschnäpper'' .
