Field Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) The field horsetail is the surviving member of a breed of plants which ruled the world in the dinosaur age. It can grow on heavily polluted soil where no other plants can grow.<br />
As weed it is very difficult te get rid of. The roots can grow to 3m deep in the ground and it is insensitive to many herbicides.<br />

"Equisetum arvense" is a herbaceous perennial plant, native throughout the arctic and temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. It has separate sterile non-reproductive and fertile spore-bearing stems, growing from a perennial underground rhizomatous stem system.
