    1. They're some of my favorite desert birds. And various members of the family had previously eluded me despite intensive searching in 6 countries, but when I got to that reserve, I saw 5 within minutes!

The double-banded courser, also known as the two-banded courser, is a species of bird in the Glareolidae family. It is the only member of the genus "Smutsornis".
