Ringlet Butterfly
University Campus Kortowo-Olsztyn, Poland (2011).
The rings on the hindwings give this butterfly its common name. The uppersides are a uniform chocolate brown that distinguish this butterfly from the closely-related Meadow Brown. The dark colouring allows this butterfly to quickly warm up, being one of the few that flies on overcast days.

The Ringlet is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is only one of the numerous "ringlet" butterflies in the tribe Satyrini.
