Soldierfly/banded general (female) University Campus Kortowo-Olsztyn, Poland (July, 2011).<br />
It is a fly with colors like those of a wasp. It has a particular flat but wide abdomen, round and oval in shape, which makes it a curious and funny sight.<br />
Habitat: Flowers near marshes and a lake. Slow flying denizen of wetlands. Stratiomys larvae live in wet mud around pools, canals and marshes.
