Common Brimstone Butterfly
Olsztyn, Poland (2011).
This buterfly has wings that look like the leaves of a cabbage.
I was there for a conference and took some free time to check on the nature of the place. It was July and it was full of butterflies of several species. I have seen there more butterflies concentrated in a place than in other places I have been in Europe. Which mkes me wonder if there they use less pesticides in the fields?

''Gonepteryx rhamni'' is a butterfly of the family Pieridae. It lives throughout the Palearctic zone and is commonly found across Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Across much of its range, it is the only species of its genus, and is therefore simply known locally as the brimstone.
