  1. I think it's one of the hawk-eagles (Nisaetus), though I'm afraid I can't say which one. But what's really messing with my brain is how much it looks like a harpy eagle, which is of course impossible on Borneo! Posted 9 years ago
  2. Definitely from Borneo. Maybe it's just the angle? But you are right, I've compared with my photos of the Harpy Eagle I took in Ecuador and they are very similar. The only thing I can say is that they sit at different angles. The Harpy is much more an upright bird. Posted 9 years ago
  3. Looks exactly like a Harpy Eagle! Are you sure it was taken in Malaysia?? Or perhaps it was in captivity? Posted 9 years ago
    1. Do you know , I suspect this photo Was taken in Ecuador! Somehow it found its way into the wrong folder in my computer. It must have flown there Lol! Perhaps it was looking for it's mate. My humble apologies. Posted 9 years ago
      1. Haha, that makes a lot more sense!! Because the only other explanation I could find was that someone had it in captivity and it got away! Posted 9 years ago

The Harpy Eagle, sometimes known as the American Harpy Eagle, is a Neotropical species of eagle. It is the largest and most powerful raptor found in the Americas, and among the largest extant species of eagles in the world. It usually inhabits tropical lowland rainforests in the upper canopy layer.
