  1. @fchristant, there's a typo on the species name and know matter what I do, I can't change it! I remove the species identification and type it again, or choose one of the options, but the one that appears here is still the one with the typo! Can you fix it, please? Posted 9 years ago

The European bee-eater is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. The genus name "Merops" is Ancient Greek for "bee-eater", and "apiaster" is Latin, also meaning "bee-eater", from "apis", "bee".
