We did it! This aviary at the Parrot Park in Veldhoven, the Netherlands is now sponsored by JungleDragon. This park is a refugee center for tropical birds formerly held as a pet.

The Solomons Cockatoo , also known as the Ducorps' Cockatoo, Solomons Corella or Broad-crested Corella, is a species of cockatoo endemic to the Solomon Islands. This small white cockatoo is larger than the Tanimbar Corella yet smaller than the Umbrella Cockatoo. The species is common across most of the Solomons, absent only from Makira in the south. It inhabits lowland rainforests, secondary forests, cleared areas and gardens.

It is heartwarming that JungleDragon is not only a great place to store photographs of our earthly nature but also a place that actually preserves nature in the one important way: life itself.
Although this may only be a small thing just keep in mind that the largest seas on earth are just a bunch of waterdrops (that's a Gandhi quote I heard years ago but still keep at heart). Way to go. Posted 13 years ago
