Belonging to the family of poppies. It is native to Mediterranean Europe, spread across the continent, except in the North, and in North America, where it may be native in certain regions It is an annual plant, similar to the wild poppy, but with smaller petals, reddish / crimson paler and fruits are sub-globular and hairy.
Habitat: Grasslands.

Papaver hybridum, The sad poppy, is a boreal flowering plant belonging to the family Papaveraceae. It is native to Europe and spread across the continent, north to Norway.
