Gull-billed tern
San Blas, Panama (2007).
These terns could be either gull-billed juveniles or sandwich terns because they look alike. I think they may rather be gull-billed because the sandwich terns have a yellow tip in their beak that I don´t see in the individuals in my pictures.
Habitat: Shoreline close to the islands of Caribbean side of Panama.
The gull-billed tern formerly "Sterna nilotica", is a seabird of the family Laridae. It is now considered to be in its own genus.
