Hawksbill sea turtle
San Blas, Panama (2007).
This is a juvenile from the hawksbill sea turtle. This poor one has an initially sad story with happy ending: we were in an island of the kuna villages in the Caribbean shores of Panama. Fisher men catch them to sell them for cooking. Some tourists bought her in this case only to release her again in the sea.
Habitat: Caribbean sea waters

The hawksbill sea turtle is a critically endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only extant species in the genus "Eretmochelys". The species has a worldwide distribution, with Atlantic and Indo-Pacific subspecies—"E. i. imbricata" and "E. i. bissa", respectively.
