
Yellow-crowned night heron
This heron was so cute! She was in the rocks of a beach in Floreana island. This species has yellow crest, the eyes brownish red, the head black with a white stripe under the eye that runs the chick. The body is grey.

The yellow-crowned night-heron, is one of two species of night herons found in the Americas, the other one being the black-crowned night heron. It is known as the Bihoreau Violacé in French and the Pedrete Corona Clara in Spanish.
