This beetle has few yellow lateral stripes. It is usually found under bark of stringybark gumtrees even in winter. They have short antennae and weak fovea. The pronotum is usually black but sometimes brown.

Paropsisterna lineata is a eucalyptus leaf beetle found in southern and eastern parts of Australia. It is very dark brown to black with a few pale yellow broken lines on the elytra.
