African Elephant It was a cloudy day in Masai Mara. I had been there for 4 days now and had captured 4 of the Big five and wanted to capture the gigantic African Elephant to complete my collection of the Big five .....
It was not a very good day to take the equipment out (especially when its rented :P) . It was drizzling , the clouds were heavy and the light wasn’t quite good for photography .
But we yet wanted to take chances for the African Elephant so we kept looking and finally we spotted this gigantic African beauty form far . The background was quite amazing with the greyish heavy clouds.Having green grass in the foreground was the icing on cake .
1. Nice and open landscape indeed! The only small remark I'd make is that the horizon is not straight, but perhaps this was intentional :) Posted 9 years ago

The African bush elephant is the larger of the two species of African elephant. Both it and the African forest elephant have usually been classified as a single species, known simply as the African elephant, but recent evidence has seen the forest elephant classified as a distinct species . Some authorities still consider the currently available evidence as insufficient for splitting African elephants into two species.
