Freckled Goatfish (Upeneus tragula) Seen in the area of Sihanoukville, Cambodia (2011). These goatfishes can reach 30 cm long. They are whitish or tan with heavy motling of brown blotches and spots. They have a yellow to brown stripe from snout to tail and black bands on tail. Interestingly they turn to a red coloration when they are being cleaned or sleeping at night. It was an evening dive so it is most likely the second, as I did not see cleaning shrimps or fishes near it.
