  1. @fchristant, I am not sure is it possible to create a subspecies, once the species is already created? I would try, but I am afraid it could cause some cross-links... Posted 9 years ago
    1. Dear Jivko
there are already two supspecies here on JD
Unlikely Friends A Key Deer and Snowy Egret enjoying each other's company on Big Pine Key Key deer,Odocoileus virginianus clavium

so I don't think it would be too difficult.
Also, there is no other subspecies in Nicaragua or Costa Rica. So we can't really get it wrong.

      1. You are right, I hadn't noticed it. The subspecies is created, you may finalize the identification now. Cheers! Posted 9 years ago
    2. Already answered, but yes, it is possible. Technically, JungleDragon does not know the difference between a species and a sub species, other than that they are different and unique names. There is no formal relation or connection between a species and sub species in the database. Posted 9 years ago
      1. I realized this. We have created some subspecies before, but the relative species has not been created in advance. That's why I was not sure,
BTW, Odocoileus virginianus has 39 subspecies!

        1. Ah now I see what you mean. In that cause I normally prefer the main species to be created first. It's just an opinion though, I'm fine with both scenarios. Posted 9 years ago
