I bent down to take a close up with my phone as I didn&#039;t have my DSLR on me and it turned towards me, gave me that evil stare that you can see and started flapping it&#039;s wings, almost as if it was warning me to stay away from it&#039;s prize. Needless to say, I did exactly what it said and at the speed it was taking it&#039;s prey away, I didn&#039;t have tie to go back to my apartment and get my camera for a better shot. Thought I&#039;d include this shot (albeit from far away and not great quality) just to show how evil this thing was! Evil little bodysnatcher (part 2)

Following on from this image

Evil little bodysnatcher Taken in Arillas, Corfu. I saw this sand wasp dragging the bush cricket down the path. The cricket was around 2.5" in length (body) and this wasp was huge, dragging it as it couldn't carry the cricket. I bent down to take a close up with my phone as I didn't have my DSLR on me and it turned towards me, gave me that evil stare that you can see and started flapping it's wings, almost as if it was warning me to stay away from it's prize. The Hairy digger wasp, Hairy sand wasp

The Podalonia hirsute is a wasp from the family Sphecidae. The Sphecidae are a cosmopolitan family of wasps that includes digger wasps, mud daubers, and other familiar types that all fall under the category of thread-waisted wasps.
