Venusta_Orchard_Spider
This photo was taken by Nancie Green in Mandeville Louisiana. It is the current VotoArt WonUp champion photo. Nancie writes this... "This is a Venusta Orchard Spider ... taken on a walk through the Northlake Nature Preserve, Mandeville, Louisiana.
On my way home from a walk through the Preserve I noticed these beauties suspended along the path. I went back to the car for my extension tubes and tripod then spent the next hour shooting these tiny wonders (the whole spider less than a 1/4 of an inch). "

The orchard spider is a long-jawed orbweaver spider that occurs from southern Canada to Panama, along the East coast, reaching into the central US. The web is often oriented horizontally, with the spider hanging down in the center.
