  1. Phelsuma guttata looks like a solid ID, but depends on where the photo was taken. P. guttata lives along the northeast coast only. Posted 9 years ago
    1. Oh, I just saw the Ankarafantsika location. That looks to be a significant distance from any records of this species in Glaw & Vences. My guess is that this is a subadult Phelsuma kochi (formerly Phelsuma madagascariensis kochi). Posted 9 years ago
      1. I'm so glad I asked because I really cannot tell them apart. Is location the only differentiation, or can it be determined visually as well? Posted 9 years ago
        1. I'm sure there are some subtle physical differences, but unfortunately I just left home today for a couple of months and foolishly neglected to bring my Glaw & Vences with me. I will try to remember to check this when I get back home in mid-August. Posted 9 years ago
          1. No worries man, it's not that important. Sounds like a long trip you're starting, enjoy! Posted 9 years ago
  2. Great shot, Ferdy! Amazing in all aspects. Posted 9 years ago
