Oxygastra curtisii Oxygastra curtisii, male in flight. A year has passed through the first time I&#039;ve tried to capture one in mid air. A few days ago I had that chance again, but only with 30 min to attempt before moving to another spot, I had to get wet to capture it. The result, far from the ideal, was this in flight capture.<br />

  1. You're being way too modest here, this is a most excellent freeze in mid-air! Posted 9 years ago
    1. Thank you for the encouragement! Last year I had a chance to work with a sigma 70-300mm, a B-lens still with a good handling and with a reasonable glass. Things went wrong with my d7100 and since then it doesn't recognize the lens :( Therefore I went back again to my backup lens a nikkor 80-200 4.5, sometimes attached to 12mm EXT. Well... It is very hard. But then again, I thank you for your feedback, your encouragement is most welcome ;) Thank you my friend, cheers* Posted 9 years ago

The orange-spotted emerald is a dragonfly in the family Corduliidae. It is the only species in its genus.

The orange-spotted emerald is about 53 millimetres long. It has bright green eyes and a bronzy-green body with yellow spots along the top of the abdomen. The last segment of the abdomen has a prominent yellow mark on the upper surface.

The species occurs in much of Europe but is regionally extinct in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Its habitat is slow flowing streams,.. more
