Nocturnal lemur, Ankarafantsika, Madagascar We did a one hour night tour just outside the Ankarafantsika, since night tours in national parks are prohibited in Madagascar. We spotted the reflection of some lemur eyes in the far distance:<br />

Based on only those tiny eyes in the pitch dark I still managed to get the above shot. It&#039;s kind of ridiculous to carry a 400mm at night, but my speed light at maximum power was able to flood the forest with light. Not a thing to overuse, as it obviously disturbs wildlife.<br />

Anyway, regarding species, our guide suggested the mongoose lemur, but it looks way different. I&#039;m thinking it may be a Milne-Edwards&#039; sportive lemur, but I&#039;ll first verify it with an expert. The Milne-Edwards' sportive lemur, or Milne-Edwards' weasel lemur, is a species of lemur in the Lepilemuridae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
