Extreme closeup of Dumeril's boa, Ankarafantsika, Madagascar
The suspense of walking in a dry forest full of with life, where every step something rushes away and you hope it's not deadly. Luckily, in Madagascar, nothing is deadly, not even this enormous Dumeril's Boa that is sliding through the dry leafs.
Check out the mosquitoes, some blood-filled, that are plaguing this snake. Without any body parts to chase them of and with snakes being in stealth mode most of the time, this must truly be a major annoyance. Full length:
''Acrantophis dumerili'', commonly known as Dumeril's boa is a non-venomous boa species found on Madagascar and Reunion Island. No subspecies are currently recognized.
