      1. Yes, that is the toughest shot of all. I learned that one from experience.

        A trick that I have learned for butterflies in general, is to lightly blow on the butterfly from above. Be ready with your camera for the shot, the opportunity will likely be brief. Of course, you may lose the butterfly for good, but it is a trick worth trying once you have collected the rest of your shots. Practice the technique when the opportunity presents.

- Habitat: woods up to 1,500 m in elevation
- Host plants: oaks, elms
- Location: Europe, Asia Minor, Lebanon
