
Ankarafantsika Cattle Egret flocks nesting, Madagascar
Arriving at the last destination of our trip through Northern Madagascar, Ankarafantsika, we were situated in a large bungalow that had this view from the backyard. This is a group of several hundred egrets that are likely nesting here. Video:
The western cattle egret is a species of heron found in the tropics, subtropics and warm temperate zones. Most taxonomic authorities lump this species and the eastern cattle egret together, but some separate them.
