  1. Impressive that you found the ID! Posted 9 years ago
    1. There are only two in Australia and I went with the one that is local to Brisbane. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/46a3681e-2931-4005-bfb6-070b11b863c7#
However I am not an expert by any means and I know that copying like this can skew the datasets.

      1. You have a solid reputation, Martin, would definitely not challenge it. I was just aiming at how hard flies are to identify in general, well for me at least :) Posted 9 years ago
        1. Well I confess that flies are not my field of knowledge and I am willing to be corrected.
Mark has a much better grasp on this group than I do.
Looking more closely, this fly appears more like a blow fly than a flesh fly and I shall remove the "flesh" from my description. Thanks for checking. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=flesh+fly&espv=2&biw=1242&bih=594&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjwuKytuvbMAhVD6KYKHT3kAhgQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=blow+fly
