At the hottest moment of the day, which really isn't that hot in the Netherlands, this male Blackbird can barely keep its eyes open and opts for a siesta.

  1. Last month was one of the hotter months in the history of measurement, when this the beautiful month of march hit the timescale. So I cannot blame a siesta feeling! Man, yesterday (while working) I only wanted to sleep. Hmm, can it be a butterfly effect:)?
    (never seen a blackbird with its eyes closed, so that's nice!)

The Common Blackbird is a species of true thrush. It is also called Eurasian Blackbird, or simply Blackbird, where this does not lead to confusion with a similar-looking local species. It breeds in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to Australia and New Zealand.
